Competing Voices

How should Christians respond to the immigration question?
Title

More Than “The Law”

Sub-title

Finding the final word on immigration

When. . . it comes to the topic of illegal immigration, Christians can feel immobilized by the competing voices and images:

politicians warning of rising health-care costs and stolen jobs; social workers bemoaning parents separated from children; pastors pitting legal requirements against Christian compassion.

Where do we start?

As the Evangelical Free Church of America, we start with the Bible. We must obey our country‘s laws, but those laws are not telling us we can‘t love, evangelize and disciple the undocumented among us. As the apostle Paul noted, when he outlined the fruit of the Spirit, ”against such things there is no law.“

Consider the informed, scriptural, legal and yet compassionate points made by fellow EFCA leaders in this issue on immigration.
